What to expect in therapy with me?

I offer an empathetic and nonjudgmental environment where you will feel safe in revealing feelings or actions that have led to stress, sadness, shame or tension in your life. I assist every person with professionalism, dignity and respect.

In my sessions, I will invite you to speak about what is happening in your life, what things are not going well that made you decide to seek professional support. Sometimes it is not easy to talk about what is going on in your life, and that is okay. I will try my best to make you feel understood, listened and not judged. Everyone is different; everyone has his or her way to work in therapy; thus, there are not good or bad clients because everyone has his or her process to deal with his or her emotional issues in his or her fashion.

In therapy, the idea is to not just work on the symptoms (anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem and low self-confidence, insecurities, etc), but also, work on what could be the possible origin of them, what unconscious emotional conflicts from your past are still unresolved in your life that are maintaining the symptoms. By doing this, you will start a process of self-discovery and reflection of your emotional conflicts. This process of self-awareness and understanding of your emotional issues will allow you to begin healing and change yourself first and as a result, the way you relate to people around you.

So, having more insights of your emotional problems and having a better understanding of the probable causes of your symptoms, is what will assist you to heal your emotional conflicts and have better adaptive behaviour.
